Richard “Dickie” R. Pleszewski, 69, of Smith Road Cassadaga, formerly of Forestville, passed away Monday, October 22nd, 2018 after suffering a long hard battle with illness. He was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1967 and became a Union Boilermaker Welder shortly after graduation. Mr. Pleszewski enjoyed a very long & successful career as a welder. He was a member of the Boilermaker Local No. 7.
Mr. Pleszewski had a passion for classic rock music and albums, collecting traps, he enjoyed the outdoors of Western New York and training his sled dogs, for pleasure. He also had a great love for spending time with his family.
He was the husband of Sharon P. (Valvo) Pleszewski for 44 years, whom he married at St. Rose of Lima RC Church, Forestville, beloved father of Amanda (Luke) Duell, long term father mentor to Jeffrey Walker, brother of James (Lucille) Pleszewski and Daniel Pleszewski. He was predeceased by his parents Raymond & Florence (Kuciapinski) Pleszewski, a sister-in-law Lynda Pleszewski and a brother-in-law S. James Valvo.
A Catholic Burial Service will be held on Saturday, November 3rd at 11 o’clock from Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville, with Rev. Daniel Fiebelkorn, pastor of St. Rose of Lima, officiating. Interment will follow in Forestville Cemetery.
