Zone 197 Death Notice: Robert Scully

With much sadness, Zone 197 reports the untimely passing of member Robert Scully.

His obituary is as follows:

Robert D. Scully, 53, of Cohoes passed away suddenly in Flat Rock, Michigan on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

He was born in Albany and educated in Albany Public Schools. Son of Carol Stanley Scully of Albany and the late Francis Scully. He worked for the Boilermakers Union Local 5 Zone 197 in Albany for over 20 years. He also worked for the City of Cohoes DPW. Rob was involved with the Cohoes Little League and Intermediate Baseball League where he was his son’s coach. He was a family man, enjoying going on family vacations and outings. He also enjoyed going to RPI Hockey games with his sons. He liked to work on cars and helping out at the union hall.

Survivors in addition to his mother, is his wife of 28 years, Sharon Hyde-Scully of Cohoes, and his sons, Brandon Scully of Cohoes, and Shane Scully of Cohoes. Brother of Alan (Missy) Scully of Purling, N.Y., Mary Scully of Schenectady, and Francis Scully of Rotterdam. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Barbara (late Herb) Hyde of Cohoes; sister-in-law, Denise (Jim) DeAlba of Calif.; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his dogs, Smokey and Sadie Mae.

Funeral services will be held at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Waterford Rural Cemetery, Waterford, N.Y.
