Zone 5 regretfully reports the passing of Robert F. Cullon, retired Assistant Business Manager/Secretary-Treasurer.
His obituary is as follow:
Robert F. Cullon, 91, of Albany, N.Y., passed away at home on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Bob was born April 28, 1933, in Manhattan, N.Y., to the late Mary V. (Manzi) and Frank Cullon. He married Mary C. French on September 10, 1955, and together they raised six children. Mary predeceased him in 2015.
Bob will be missed by his children Mary Ellen O’Keefe (late Raymond), John Cullon (Carla), Patricia Brickner (David), Kathleen Dreusike (Marcus), Jean Marie Cullon and Joseph Cullon (Charlotte Haller).
He was the loving grandfather to Ann Marie Griner (Elizabeth) and Jacob Cullon, Daniel and Meghan Brickner, Mary Elizabeth Greiner (Ben), Liam and Grace Dreusike, Emma Roberts (Branden) and Ian Sturm, and Sadie and Harriet Cullon.
Bob was blessed with the length of years and welcomed his great grandchildren Anderson and Everly Griner, Liam Dreusike and Ewan Greiner.
Bob and Mary raised their family in Queens Village and East Williston, N.Y. before retiring to Great Barrington, Mass. Together in 2011, they moved to Avila Retirement Community where Bob thrived finding joy with many friendships, poker games and puzzles.
He was an Army veteran and a proud Local 5 Boilermaker retiring as their Assistant Business Manager/ Secretary-Treasurer.
Bob will be remembered for his welcoming ways and his devotion to God, his country and his family.
His legacy will live in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him.
He often said and truly believed he was “The luckiest guy in the world!”

Please enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance only. Funeral services Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Ave., Albany, N.Y. 12203, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held Friday, August 30, 2024, at Calvary Cemetery, 49-02 Laurel Hill Blvd., Woodside, N.Y. 11377.
