Zone 7 Death Notice: Richard Persico

Richard V. “Rich” Persico of Boston, NY, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 22, 2022. Devoted husband of late Louise (nee Colafranceschi) Persico; beloved father of David (Becky), Richard M., Sharon (Ed Misiak), Jackie Persico, and late Michael Persico; cherished grandfather of Jeremy (Becky), Matthew, Nicole (McCray), and late Justin Persico; loving great-grandfather of Juliana, James, Giavanna, and Landen; also survived by many nephews, and lifelong friends. Rich joined the service at the end of World War II and proudly served in the Korean War as a paratrooper with the 5th Regimen 11th Airborne Division. He was a proud union member for over 30 years with Boilermakers Local #7, where he was Sargent-at-Arms for 18 years. Friends will be received Saturday from 2:00 to 6:00 at LAKESIDE MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4199 Lakeshore Rd., Hamburg, NY 14075 where a prayer service will take place at 6:00. Funeral services will be held Sunday in the same location at 11:30 AM, immediately followed by a funeral breakfast, Rich’s favorite meal.
